    Posted by Karen Ekekwe

A curly human hair extension isn't your average human hair, in the sense that it requires more care and if anything less is given the curls might not last as long as expected. Here are a few tips that would help keep amazing, long lasting, curly hair extension.

    BRUSHING YOUR CURLY HAIR

    1. Detangle your hair carefully

    2. Finger comb your hair gently to maintain the curls

When moisturizing, it is advisable to condition your human hair with a regular conditioner and also make use of deep conditioning treatment. This helps to provide the moisture the curly locks need and prevent future damage. N/B; Use a detangling brush

    APPLYING CURL CREAM (ARGAN OIL)

This would help your curl locks look even more gorgeous as it gives the hair shine and further enhances texture. Spray your hair with plain water or leave-in conditioner to maintain the curls.

    STYLING/DRYING CURLY WAVES

To make your curls look best, it is advisable to let it air-dry. To maintain the curls on your human hair, it is advisable to reduce the heat on the hair (heat can't be 100% avoided but it can be reduced).

    1. Apply oil before shampoo

    2. Section and wash

    3. Lather once with a sulfate-free shampoo

  • GOALS FOR THE NEW YEAR

    Posted by Karen Ekekwe

Each year we make resolutions to stop old habits or maybe grow new ones, but more often than not our big plans are ruined sometime in January. However, this hasn't stopped us from setting those goals in December. This article highlights some of these goals and how they can be achieved .

    1. Read more books

I know most of us set out goals to read more books in the new year. Now here's the thing, we mostly set vague goals. For example, a goal is set to read 30 books in a year when on a normal day reading a book can be so much "wahala". So why set such goals, maybe a more realistic goal like at least 2 books in 3 months so by the end of the year a total of 8 books would have been read which if you ask me is not so shabby.

    2. Lose weight

During the festive season, we ate all we could without an ounce of guilt and now that it's a new year we all feel fat. Not to worry, it happens to the best of us. The aim is not to feel bad and then care less about how we look but the aim is to do something about it. A way this can happen is not by going on extreme diets but eating little portions at intervals and exercising can do the trick. Trying to keep fit/lose weight can be hard, trust me I know but it is not impossible.

    3. Learn something new

So I remember riding a bicycle as a kid but I don't think I can ride one now so I've decided that I'll relearn how to ride a bicycle. You can pick something else to do, it can be learning how to bake, makeup or any other skill. Let it just be realistic, start small and grow big.

    4. Travel more

My very good friend decided to take a travel adventure, she decided to visit 25 states in Nigeria before she's 25 and she's only 20. Most people set travel goals but they end up not achieving it, the reason being they set ambiguous goals, for example, setting a goal to travel to countries outside Africa when your bank balance is doing "yimu". before any goal is set, the first thing to do is do a finance check and just as the saying goes "cut your coat according to your size" DO THE NEEDFUL!!!

    5. Make new friends

This and the previous reason are kind of similar, when you travel you meet new people be it in the airport, the airplane or at immigration. The idea is to interact more, for introverts, this might be difficult but there's no harm in trying yeah? if your finances can't  help achieve your traveling dreams then not to worry, you can still make friends in your area of residence, your church. the key is stepping out of your comfort zone and soar.

Have a dream, set a goal to achieve the dream. 2017 is going to be a great year.

Have other goals you've set for yourself? Feel free to share in the comment section

  • TIPS FOR HOLIDAY SHOPPING

    Posted by Karen Ekekwe

When shopping Christmas, there are some things we need to put into consideration before we start shopping. This article will help you in making some holiday decisions, I have experienced most of what I’m going to tell you so it’s not just coming from thin air.

    1. Affordability not Desirability

It’s not all items you desire that you can afford right, trust me on this. I mean I desire a Samsung S7 but I can’t afford it considering my finances. Now when shopping for Christmas gifts, you shop for goods you can afford. Just like the saying goes “you can’t always get what you want” but you can at least love what you get.

    1. Take note of Sales

This is the festive period and most stores would want to “get rid” of old stock and they would be offering amazing discounts on goods and services. First, there was Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now there are Christmas sales where you can get goods up to 50%. Take for example the whopping N10,000 off our Holiday kollection, it’s advisable you take note of sales this festive period and grab them with your two hands.

    1. Refrain from impulse buying

Stay away from buying goods without planning to do so in advance, there’s nothing worse than the feeling of regret you get when buy a good/pay for a service that you didn’t plan for. It “hunts” you and the fact that you can almost never get your money back is not worth it. So why not plan whatever it is you want to buy and then be happy afterward.

    1. Look to buy online

Personally, I do most of my shopping online. You may ask why, well I’ll tell you why. I’m not the type of person that likes going to the market under the sun and after spending almost the whole day I still don’t get what I want. Shopping online saves you the stress of walking under the not so conducive weather and the fun part is that you stay at home with your laptop or your mobile phone and have the goods delivered to your doorstep without breaking a sweat.

    1. Create a gift list

Before you go out shopping, make a list of what you want to buy and who you want to buy it for. Prepare a gift list according to priority and then can you enjoy your shopping

Most importantly, don’t wait for last minute shopping it can be frustrating. START SHOPPING NOW!!!

  • FEW HAIR AND BEAUTY TIPS FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON.

FEW HAIR AND BEAUTY TIPS FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON.

Christmas is around the corner bringing with it many reasons and events to rock glamorous makeup and hair. It is completely acceptable to look different because Christmas gives us the opportunity to spend time with our  family and friends, whatever it is you are celebrating lets look at a few beauty and hair tricks to keep you looking your best this season.

    • Take care of your hair: All hair types suffer during harmattan .The change in weather dries out your hair so it is advisable you start using moisturizing hair conditioner and a good water based hair cream.
    • Keep your skin shiny and moisturized all the time: Harmattan can be very harsh to the skin. Drink more water and cream your body while it is still damp.

    • To avoid having cracked lips simply exfoliate your lips by mixing little honey and brown sugar for a natural fix or better still you can buy a lip balm.

    •      Rough and cracked heels: Nothing can be embarrassing and annoying as having cracked heels so if you love your feet take care of them. Moisturize the heels with thick cream lotion containing lactic acid and wear cotton socks more often because it helps the cream  to absorb and moisturizers work well when applied to a warm and damp skin.

    • Any hair that keeps the ends/roots of your hair hidden is a great option during harmattan because you want your hair well covered and hydrated to avoid breakage.

    .

Lastly, avoid the use of gel or any other hair stronghold and try not to comb your hair while it is still wet.

  • Benefits Of Applying Natural Argan Oil

    Posted by Gift Odiete

You don’t have to buy expensive products for your hair. You probably already have what you need sitting right in your pantry. I know firsthand that natural oils are the best thing you can do for your hair, especially if it’s dry or curly. I’ve used coconut oil all of my life, and I just recently fell in love with Argan Oil. Honestly, it’s rare that I find a product that does the trick by giving my hair the moisture that it needs. My hair sucks it up like a plant that hasn’t been fed water in days!

Whats so great about Argan oil?

It provides basic nourishment for health and strength, argan oil acts as a protective shield to prevent your hair from all kinds of damage caused by the sun, hot tools, and just life in general. Using argan oil once a week may help you avoid the outer layer known as the cuticle from getting damaged and fraying.

Its what I am currently using. It helps keep my hair hydrated and controls a lot of the fly-aways. My hair absorbs the oil really well, so it never looks greasy. It’s works wonders on my ends, I can’t recommend Argan oil enough if you want shiny and lustrous hair. This question below has been asked by so many ladies. Lets look into it.

Is hair oil good for hair extensions?

The answer is a resounding yes!  Hair oil can keep your extensions looking and feeling as good as the day you got them.

However, the answer can also be no!  If hair oil isn't applied properly, your extensions may fall out.  Always exercise extreme caution when using hair oil.

What can adding a hair oil do for you?

    1. Prevents Damage/ Stops Damage:

Hair oil helps prevent damage in the first place.  The leading cause of hair damage is from thermal damage aka your molten hot lava flat iron. Applying a small amount of hair oil before hot tools will help prevent thermal damage.

If your hair is already damaged, hair oil fills in the holes in your hair created by damage to the cuticle of your hair.  This helps the cuticle layer lay flat, so it looks healthy again.

    2. Increases Shine and Attractiveness:

Hair styling and excessive use of chemical hair products can lead to split ends and make your hair appear dull, rough and unevenly distributed.  Regular use of a hair oil can give a healthy, shiny, and nourished look to your mane.  By nourishing your hair through regular oiling, you can rejuvenate shine and silkiness, and prevent split ends.

    3. Strengthens the Hair Protein

Natural oils secreted by the sebaceous glands under the scalp infuse protein into the hair shaft.  Hair oils such as argan oil, almond oil, castor oil, and olive oil will help supplement and restore the original strength of protein that is instrumental in improving the quality of hair.  Additionally, it helps to reduce frizz and fragility.
